Plenty of people here on Whirlpool claim Miele customer service is legendary – I personally can't say as I don't buy Miele but with the premium you pay when you purchase Miele they must have something going for them. And I am sure if I purchased LG/Samsung/Whatever other brands I could buy 5 years extended warranty and I guess because they never fail. And guess what 1 year later I received a letter asking me to purchase 1 year extended warranty (I can't remember how much it was, probably something like $300) but I guess I was smart enough not to be ripped off. But I still think being a premium brand having only been using for 4.5 years it shouldn't break! And god knows when it might break again.īut what I am certain is that I will be getting a Korean branded induction cooktops next time for sure!!! What I was really surprised was that the logic board 'seemed' simple compared to my ipads but they cost more than my ipad!!! And the even funnier thing was that when I bought it the default warranty given by Miele was 2 years and I couldn't purchase any extended warranty the sales guy did tell me that being Miele we are proud of our history and quality you know these things are designed to be used up to 20 years. I don't know if I am just bad luck or the induction technology is new or that electronics being electronics they will fail regardless of brands / usage / time. I guess it's like any German products if you have the money to buy you won't have the money to repair or keep it running.
